The President's Message
The President's Message
Six short years ago, my family arrived in North Dallas with merely a handful of informal contacts. We walked into Shaare Tefilla, and were immediately embraced by the warm environment that makes up the community. Led by our Mara D'atra, Rabbi Ariel Rackovsky, a first-class scholar and orator, Shaare Tefilla is the destination for Modern Orthodoxy in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a community devoted to the pillars of Torah, Chessed, and Eretz Yisrael. It is the type of place where community comes first, where friendships and mentorships extend from our shul's founders to its youngest members.
Dallas has become a destination city for the Jewish community, and Shaare Tefilla reflects that geographic diversity, with families from the Big Apple to Florida, Israel to Los Angeles, all with a sprinkling of the natives' Texan twang in the air. Similarly, people's personal and professional interests are just as varied. You might just as easily cross paths with a tech CEO or wellness coach, as with a transplant surgeon or venture capitalist. We are 200 families strong and growing, arguably the perfect size where you can recognize everyone, and your contribution matters.
Perhaps you will be interested in our smichas chaver program, participate in our active committee roster, or join the two dozen members actively learning Daf Yomi. I am certain that at Shaare Tefilla, you will find nourishment for your spirit, soul, and stomach, just as my family has. If you do come for davening, please come by and say hello.
